Evidence Code §730 Evaluations

When appointed by the court, Dr. Selina Mangassarian may provide forensic neuropsychological or psychological evaluations under California Evidence Code §730. These evaluations are tailored to the specific referral question identified by the court. Court-appointed experts under §730 are often used when the court requires a neutral expert opinion, when the parties’ experts are in significant disagreement, or when the complexity of the psychological or neuropsychological questions requires an independent assessment that the court can rely upon. 

Depending on the legal issue, a court-appointed evaluation may include clinical interview, standardized testing, comprehensive record review, collateral information when appropriate, and assessment of effort and symptom validity.
