The responsibility for covering the cost of an evaluation depends on the referral source and the nature of the case.
Forensic Evaluations
In forensic cases, the requesting party (such as an attorney, insurance company, or court) is responsible for all fees associated with the evaluation. CFNA does not accept payment directly from examinees when retained by a third party, and we do not work on a contingency or lien basis. Fees for forensic evaluations are invoiced directly to the retaining party per the terms of our engagement agreement.

Clinical Evaluations/Academic Accommodations Evaluations
For clinical evaluations, the examinee (or their designated responsible party) is responsible for the cost of the evaluation.
CFNA is out-of-network and is not contracted with any insurance panels. We do not accept or bill insurance directly.
Comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations require extensive time, specialized expertise, and individualized attention to produce meaningful diagnostic clarity and clinically useful recommendations. We believe this level of thoroughness is best delivered without the administrative constraints, shortened session limits, and pre-authorization hurdles that often accompany in-network care. For these reasons, among others, CFNA believes that an out-of-network model best serves our patients’ needs.
CFNA charges a flat-rate fee for clinically referred cases that includes all components of the evaluation, with no hidden or surprise charges. his flat fee includes a thorough review of records, a comprehensive clinical interview with the examinee and, when appropriate and with consent, with family members or close contacts, face-to-face neuropsychological testing, scoring of test results, interpretation of findings, preparation of a detailed written report, and a discussion of results with the examinee and/or the referral source. Because the scope of each evaluation varies considerably from case to case, hourly billing introduces unpredictability and can result in costs that far exceed a flat rate. Our flat-fee structure ensures that every patient knows exactly what to expect from the start.
For patients who meet certain qualifications, a payment plan may be requested to help make services more accessible.

Referrals
If the cost of an evaluation is not financially feasible, we understand, and we are happy to arrange a referral to an appropriate provider who may be a better fit for your needs and circumstances.
Please contact CFNA for current fee schedules.
Because evaluation appointments require significant time commitments, a cancellation fee may apply if an appointment is canceled without at least 48 hours’ notice. These slots are challenging to fill on short notice. Exceptions may be made for unforeseen circumstances such as illness or injury. In such cases, please contact the office to discuss the possibility of waiving the fee.
